
The 'He-Man' of Bollywood, Dharmendra Singh Deol has passed away at the age of 89 in Mumbai.
Dharmendra Singh Deol, popularly known as Bollywood’s “He-Man,” remains one of the most admired and respected figures in Indian cinema. Dharmendra has appeared in over 300 films within his career spanning over six decades, thus leaving behind an unmatched legacy of versatility, charm, and strength on screen.
The 89-year-old veteran actor has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, which has raised concern among his fans and colleagues.
The legendary veteran actor Dharmendra Singh Deol, the 'He-Man' of Bollywood, has passed away at the age of 89 on 24th November 2025. The family has not given any information regarding the actor's death. Though the news has been confirmed by Karan Johar through an Instagram post.
According to ANI, Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are reaching the Vile Parle Crematorium in Mumbai for the last rites.
Recently, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for observation following health complications. Rumours were there that he was dead at the same time, but his son Sunny Deol’s team clarified that he is not on a ventilator and is recovering steadily.
Hema Malini, seen visiting him at the hospital, told reporters they are hoping for his speedy recovery. Fans across the country continue to send wishes for the beloved actor’s health and well-being.
According to reports, the veteran actor was put on life support shortly after he returned from Breach Candy Hospital, where he was getting treatment for his heart problems.
His health concerns rose not only among fans but also within the film industry, as there were several reports about his health deteriorating. His problems with the heart became more severe despite the medical treatments and care, which eventually led to his demise.
Dharmendra was born on December 8, 1935, in Phagwara, Punjab and brought up in Sahnewal, near Ludhiana. The son of a school headmaster, Dharmendra was hooked on films since his childhood.
He made his debut with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960) and soon rose to become one of the most popular romantic and action heroes. With rugged good looks and immense natural charm, Dharmendra became one of the most bankable stars of the 1960s and 70s, with classics such as Sholay, Satyakam, Phool Aur Patthar and Yaadon Ki Baaraat.
Dharmendra’s estimated net worth is Rs. 335 crore – Rs. 450 crore, which is around $60 million. His income sources include acting, film production, endorsements and real estate investments. The actor owns a luxurious farmhouse in Lonavala and multiple properties in Mumbai.
Dharmendra is married to actress and politician Hema Malini, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated female stars. The two fell in love during the 1970s while working together on films like Seeta Aur Geeta and Sholay.
Hema continues to be active in both cinema and politics, representing Mathura as a BJP Member of Parliament.
Dharmendra and Hema Malini have a combined net worth of over Rs. 500 crore. According to her affidavit filed ahead of the 2024 elections, Hema declared assets of around Rs. 129 crore, which included luxury vehicles, property and investments. The power couple remains among Bollywood’s richest and most respected veterans.
