'Param Sundari' star Janhvi Kapoor added festive cheer to Janmashtami celebrations in Mumbai on Saturday as part of her promotional tour for her upcoming romantic comedy film. The actress, dressed in a light yellow traditional outfit with elegant jewelry, joined a dahi handi celebration where she greeted fans in Marathi and even broke the handi on stage.
Videos circulating on Instagram show Janhvi enthusiastically addressing the crowd in Marathi, wishing everyone a happy Janmashtami while urging them to watch her film Param Sundari, which releases on August 29. The audience cheered loudly as she participated, shattering the handi with a coconut.
However, the situation quickly turned chaotic as a massive crowd gathered around the actress. Paparazzi clips revealed a mob-like scenario when Janhvi attempted to leave the venue. Despite being surrounded by security and her team, she looked visibly uncomfortable while being pushed through the crowd. Even so, the actress managed to keep her composure, smiling and waving to fans before stepping into her car.
Directed by Dinesh Vijan, Param Sundari explores a cross-cultural romance between a boy from Delhi, played by Sidharth Malhotra, and a Malayali girl, portrayed by Janhvi Kapoor. Since its publication earlier this week, the trailer has generated a lot of discussion online.
While some viewers criticized Janhvi’s Malayali accent as stereotypical, many others praised the film’s refreshing premise and on-screen chemistry between the leads.
The film also features Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in key roles. One of the most anticipated Bollywood films of the month is Param Sundari, which combines a lot of comedy, romance, and cultural drama.
