Cast of The Bengal Files: Vivek Agnihotri is concluding his The Files trilogy with the upcoming multi-starrer political drama The Bengal Files. The trailer of the film was released a few weeks ago, with millions of views and a bunch of new controversies.
Now, with the film's release just around the corner, the internet is buzzing with discussions around the Vivek Agnihotri film.
Vivek Agnihotri's political drama features an ensemble cast of actors who have a track record of delivering impactful performances. The cast of The Bengal Files includes:
Mithun Chakraborty leads the cast as Madman Chatur, a character symbolic of the times. Chakraborty, who is a bona fide legend in the space and recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, is known for his iconic films like Disco Dancer and Mr India.
Anupam Kher plays the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the Vivek Agnihotri film. His portrayal of the historical figures is expected to bring grace to the character of Gandhi in a period marked by escalating tensions.
National Award-winning actress and co-producer Pallavi Joshi, a key collaborator in Agnihotri’s previous works, plays a lead female role, though specific details remain undisclosed.
Darshan Kumar, recognised for his roles in Mary Kom and NH10, portrays Shiva Alok Pandit, a criminal investigator central to the film’s modern-day storyline. His character uncovers corruption while grappling with the historical weight of the 1946 riots.
The film's supporting cast includes Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Simrat Kaur, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, Mohan Kapur, Eklavya Sood, Anubha Arora and Palomi Ghosh.

The Bengal Files budget has not been disclosed yet. However, looking at the success of Agnihotri's last project, The Kashmir Files, it can be estimated that The Bengal Files is somewhere around the same ballpark park if not more. The Kashmir Files was made on a budget of ₹20 crore approx. and minted a total of ₹341 crore worldwide, as reported by Sacnilk.
Set in 1940s India, The Bengal Files' story centres around the Great Calcutta Killings and the Noakhali riots that occurred in the year 1946.
