Ek Chatur Naar is slated for release on 12th September 2025.
Cast of Ek Chatur Naar: Ek Chatur Naar, a dark comedy thriller directed by Umesh Shukla and produced by Merry Go Round Studios, will be released on September 12, 2025. The film is distributed by PVR Inox Pictures and is inspired by the 1968 Padosan song, but tells a contemporary tale of fraud within a small-town scenario. Its ensemble cast of accomplished and versatile actors is one main highlight, adding depth to this movie venture that is in waiting.
Divya Khosla Kumar tops the cast as Mamta Mishra, the intelligent heroine. She has worked as an actor in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004) and Yaariyan 2 (2023), and as a director in Yaariyan (2014) and Savi (2024). Her part in Ek Chatur Naar is her comeback to a leading acting project, where she depicts an intelligent lady propelling the movie's plot.
Neil Nitin Mukesh plays Abhishek Verma, the male protagonist caught in the plot twists. He made his debut with Johnny Gaddaar (2007) and became known for New York (2009), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015), and Wazir (2016). Having taken a break from acting, Neil's comeback in this thriller is an added feature to the film, using his expertise at playing knotty characters.
The supporting cast members include Chhaya Kadam, from Laapataa Ladies (2023) and Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). Sushant Singh, with his serious performances in Satya (1998) and The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002), is cast as Inspector Triloki. Rajneesh Duggal, with 1920 (2008), adds a dark touch, while menace comes from Zakir Hussain, with Sarkar (2005). Heli Daruwala, from TV’s Shakti, makes her mark, alongside Geeta Agrawal Sharma (12th Fail, 2023) and Yashpal Sharma, recognised for Lagaan (2001), who add emotional and rustic depth, respectively.
Umesh Shukla, who has directed the likes of Oh My God (2012) and 102 Not Out (2018), directs Ek Chatur Naar. His ability to weave humour with substance into his films establishes the tone for this one as well. With a cast of mature actors, the film guarantees a blend of witty dialogue, tension, and small-town mystery, ensuring that it becomes one to look out for in 2025.
