When a film captures attention far beyond its own theatres, it is clear that it is creating a significant impact. Dhurandhar, the action-packed spy thriller, is doing just that. Loaded with espionage, high-stakes drama, and the tension between India and Pakistan, the movie has kept audiences hooked from start to finish.
Despite being banned in Pakistan and six Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, due to its alleged “anti-Pakistan” stance, the film continues to maintain a presence there. A video recently emerged online showing a song from Dhurandhar being played at a party in Pakistan, where Pakistani politician Bilawal Bhutto was also in attendance.
Dhurandhar Song Played at Party Featuring Bilawal Bhutto
The video captures Bhutto seated on stage with two other men while the Dhurandhar track FA9LA plays in the background. The song, performed by Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, is associated with one of the movie’s most popular characters, Rehman Dakait, portrayed by Akshaye Khanna. In the film, Akshaye’s appearance in this song is electrifying and immediately makes an impression on the audience. It is striking to see the same song being played at a public event in Pakistan despite the movie being officially banned.
The clip that was shared on X from @CineAlpha1 account with the caption is widely viral on social media “A song from #Dhurandhar was played during the entry of Pakistani politician Bilawal Bhutto and that alone says a lot. On one hand, cases are being filed against this film in Pakistani courts. On the other hand, they’re openly playing their songs at public events. From films to music, Pakistan seems completely obsessed with Dhurandhar right now.”\
Indian Fans Notice the Irony
The video triggered widespread discussion on social media, with Indian audiences pointing out the irony.
One commented, “FIR in the morning, playlist in the evening.”
Other replied, “They definitely are. Their wedding events are upbeat with Indian music,” and “They can’t spend a day without embarrassing themselves!”
Dhurandhar Box Office Success
On the business front, Dhurandhar continues its unstoppable streak. Within just 13 days, the film has broken over 25 records and is rapidly approaching the Rs 500 crore mark. On its second Wednesday, the film earned Rs 21.29 crore, pushing its total domestic collection to Rs 433.04 crore.
In the story, Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, an Indian spy who infiltrates the crime-dominated streets of Pakistan’s Lyari to dismantle terror networks backed by the ISI. Alongside Ranveer and Akshaye, the film features Rakesh Bedi, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles.
