Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has alleged that her high-end Christian Dior handbag filled with jewelry worth ₹70 lakh was stolen at Gatwick Airport in London. The theft, reportedly happened while she had gone to the UK for Wimbledon finals recently in July.

The loss is reported to have occurred after she arrived in London from Mumbai on an Emirates flight. “As a Platinum Emirates Member and international artist traveling to Wimbledon, I am personally disappointed to have to announce that our Christian Dior brown luggage was stolen off the baggage belt at London Gatwick Airport,” she reported. Even after having the baggage tag and ticket, the luggage disappeared off the belt itself, which raised concerns about the security protocols of the airport.

“This issue is not just about a misplaced bag it’s about accountability, safety, and respect for all travellers,” she went on to say in the statement.

The actress also posted on Instagram her frustration, stating, “Injustice tolerated is injustice repeated.” She mentioned Emirates, Gatwick Airport, and the Metropolitan Police and asked for help in having her stolen items returned. In her message, she said, “Our @wimbledon @dior brown baggage was stolen from the belt at @gatwickairport after flying @emirates from Mumbai during #Wimbledon.”

Urvashi also claimed there was no adequate response from either Emirates support or airport authorities when she approached them for assistance concerning the lost bag.

She had been to the 2025 Wimbledon finals and even posted pictures from the event, including one where she said she met the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, describing it as “PRINCESS OF WALES #KATEMIDDLETON TRULY AN HONOR TO MEET YOU”.

This has led to many issues regarding luggage security in international airports, especially when the items involved are of high value.
