Bollywood fans are in for a nostalgic treat as Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan reunite on screen after nearly 18 years. The much-loved duo, popularly remembered for their on-screen camaraderie in films like Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), and Tashan (2008), will headline veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan’s new thriller Haiwaan.

Shooting Begins in Kochi

The film officially went on floors on Saturday, August 23, in Kochi, Kerala. Marking the occasion, Akshay Kumar shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram. The clip gave fans a first glimpse of the light-hearted mood on set, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting project.

A Playful Exchange on Set

In the video, Akshay wore a T-shirt with the word “Saint” printed on it. Turning to Saif, he joked, “I know this devil very well,” a comment that playfully highlighted their decades-long friendship and hinted at the quirky chemistry they bring to the screen. Fans quickly picked up on the banter, sparking excitement across social media.

Akshay’s Excitement in His Own Words

Alongside the video, Akshay posted a special message that read:
“Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se ‘Haiwaan’ :)) Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”

Their Last On-Screen Appearance

The last time Akshay and Saif shared screen space was in the action drama Tashan (2008), directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The film, which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, marked the end of their earlier collaborations. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited another film featuring the popular duo, making Haiwaan a highly anticipated reunion.

Priyadarshan’s New Vision

Priyadarshan, known for his hit comedies like Hera Pheri, Hungama, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, is now exploring a darker genre with Haiwaan. Industry insiders suggest that the thriller will showcase both Akshay and Saif in never-seen-before avatars, bringing together action, suspense, and emotional depth.

What Lies Ahead for Akshay Kumar

Beyond Haiwaan, Akshay Kumar has several projects lined up. Notably, he will star in Priyadarshan’s upcoming comedy-horror Bhooth Bangla. Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms in association with Akshay’s Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on April 2, 2026.

With two powerhouse actors joining forces under Priyadarshan’s direction, Haiwaan is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases in recent years. Fans are already buzzing with excitement about witnessing the magic of the Akshay-Saif duo once again on the big screen.
