Veteran actors Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, expressing their love through heartfelt Instagram posts. Over the years, the power couple has not only won admiration for their remarkable performances on screen but has also inspired fans with their enduring bond and real-life chemistry. Their journey together stands as a blend of friendship, resilience, and companionship that continues to touch countless hearts.
Kirron Kher shared a warm note along with a picture from an award ceremony. She wrote: "Happy Anniversary dearest @anupampkher. My best friend and partner. Thank you for all the wonderful years. My life's best years are with you. We travelled the world together, laughed and enjoyed every moment. God bless you always. Lots of love and a happy anniversary."
Anupam Kher posted a nostalgic throwback video featuring Outlander stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, who had earlier sent Kirron a personalised “get well soon” message when she was unwell.
Sharing the clip, he wrote: "Dearest Kirron! HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY! Wow! Feels like a lifetime! In our case it IS a lifetime! 10 years of beautiful friendship and 40 years of marriage! We have had our share of tough times. But we have survived these years with lot of grace, dignity and love!"
He also recalled: "Through my agent in London #RuthYoung I somehow reached out to actors #CaitrionaBalfe and #SamHeughan playing your favourite characters for a personalised video for you to 'get well soon'! The video brought a big smile on your face in those tough times. Can't thank @samheughan and @caitrionabalfe enough for this wonderful human gesture! Since I have run out of our pics together, here is that video. Hope it brings a smile on your face even today. Love and prayers always! #HappyAnniversary #40th."
The couple tied the knot in 1985. Kirron was previously married to businessman Gautam Berry and has a son, Sikandar Kher, from her first marriage. Over the decades, Anupam and Kirron have shared both personal challenges and professional milestones, standing by each other through thick and thin.
On the professional front, Anupam recently directed Tanvi The Great, a film highlighting the Indian Army and autism through the story of a young girl inspired by her late father. The movie features Shubhangi Dutt, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen.
He will also be seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files, where he is set to play the role of Mahatma Gandhi.
