Akshaye Khanna has been trending across social media thanks to his powerful performance in Dhurandhar. He plays the character Rehman Dakait, and his impactful acting has drawn major attention. Adding to the excitement is the song FA9LA, where Akshaye’s energetic dance moves have gone viral, turning into a social media sensation.
Amid the ongoing craze, another video has resurfaced this time featuring Akshaye’s father, the legendary Vinod Khanna. The clip also shows former Pakistan cricket captain and ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan dancing with Bollywood icon Rekha and Vinod Khanna.
The video is reportedly from a charity event held in Lahore in 1989. In the clip, Rekha and Vinod Khanna are seen dancing together on stage. What caught the internet’s attention is that Vinod Khanna’s hand gestures in the video resemble Akshaye’s recently viral dance steps from Dhurandhar.
Actor Danish Pandor, who stars alongside Akshaye in Dhurandhar, shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail. He revealed that the dance moves that went viral were not choreographed at all they were completely improvised by Akshaye during the shoot.
He explained, "We shot this in Leh Ladakh, and Vijay Ganguly was choreographing the whole song. We all heard the track and were stunned by how amazing it was. So, Aditya sir was explaining the shot to Akshaye sir. The whole choreography was happening, and in the middle of that, Akshaye sir asked Aditya, 'Can I dance?' Aditya sir said, 'Do whatever you like.'"
Danish added further, "Then there's a take, and we all enter, and he looks at everyone dancing, and he starts dancing on his own. There's no choreography for him. Everyone was stunned, like kya kar diya yeh inhone (what has he done). People started applauding so much after the shot, the frames were looking so good. He did it all on his own. He is terrific."
Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, released on December 5 and continues to generate buzz thanks to Akshaye Khanna’s performance and unexpected dance improvisation.
