Before the upcoming G20 summit on September 9 and 10, a paramilitary force and a senior officer of the Delhi Police have been stationed at Tilak Bridge in the nation’s capital. The security has been put in place, according to the officials, as a precaution after Khalistani elements threatened to vandalize nearby properties. In preparation for the upcoming G20 summit, the Delhi Police has also begun conducting vehicle inspections at various locations throughout the national capital. Between Monday night and early Tuesday morning, unexpected checks were carried out at India Gate and other locations throughout the city.

Police personnel were seen conducting thorough inspections by halting vehicles.
Earlier, in the previous week, suspected activists of Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), a front for the separatist Khalistan Group, defaced several metro stations with pro-Khalistan slogans, fuelling security concerns ahead of the G20 Summit.
After this, two persons from Punjab were detained in connection with pro-Khalistan graffiti and slogans painted at more than 5 metro stations in Delhi on August 27, officials said.

As the G20 week has begun, all government officials are on high alert after a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) designated wing issued a warning about any “misleading, fake, and counterfeit” emails being disseminated by bad elements. The culmination of all G20 processes and meetings among ministers, senior officials, and civil societies will take place at the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi. At the conclusion of the G20 Summit, a statement from the G20 Leaders outlining their support for the priorities discussed and decided during the corresponding ministerial and working group meetings will be adopted.
