Delegates attending the second Agriculture Deputies Meeting (ADM) of the Agriculture Working Group under India’s G20 presidency were caught up in the “Naatu Naatu” fever. The delegates, who gathered in Chandigarh on Wednesday, were seen dancing to the tune of the Oscar-winning song on the sidelines of the meeting.
The delegates were seen in high spirits as they shook their legs to the local dancers of Chandigarh. The cross-cultural hit “Naatu Naatu” has won several awards on the global stage, including the prestigious Oscar for India in the ‘Best Original Song’ category. The song beat out stiff competition from other global hits, including “This Is A Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman,” and “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
“Naatu Naatu” also won the Golden Globes in January in the ‘Best Original Song’ category, and five days later, “RRR” bagged two more awards at the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards, including ‘best foreign language film’ and the ‘best song.’
The song was released in several languages, including Hindi as “Naacho Naacho,” Tamil as “Naattu Koothu,” Kannada as “Halli Naatu,” and Malayalam as “Karinthol.” Its Hindi version was sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Vishal Mishra. The hook steps, performed by Jr NTR and Ram Charan, went viral on social media, and their energetic synchronisation made the song a treat to watch.
The “Naatu Naatu” fever continues to grip the world, and the G20 delegates were no exception. They were seen enjoying the catchy tune and letting their hair down in an absolute celebratory mood.
