Terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir have got frustrated with the Army’s vigilance in the Valley and may try to disrupt the peace by causing explosions from place to place. Intelligence agencies have sent a report to the Union Home Ministry stating that terrorists may target Army convoys and central paramilitary forces by carrying out major IED attacks. The report states that security forces deployed in Pulwama, Avantipura and Shopian are the targets that have been chosen by the terrorists. They plan to hunt the vehicles of the forces and they also plan to target the Jammu and Kashmir highway, especially the areas close to Pampore, Bijbehara and Qazigund. Apart from this, the routes of Baramulla, Sopore and Kupwara are also on the target. Intelligence agencies have asked all the security forces to be especially vigilant, alert and follow the SOPs provided to them so that the terrorists do not succeed in their plans. They also reviewed the security of all the security forces present in the Valley. A top officer associated with intelligence agencies told The Sunday Guardian that the manner in which terrorists are being wiped out one-by-one in the Valley, the terrorists who are present across the border have now become intimidated. The officer further added that there may be a grenade attack on security forces. Security has been tightened at military installations, important locations and highways. Particular vigilance is being exercised by the security forces, especially during the passing of the convoys. The IB believes that terrorists may use young boys
involved in stone-pelting and other anti-national activities to carry out these attacks. It has been mentioned in the report that there is a team of six who are trying to carry out this incident.
Furthermore, according to intelligence agencies, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish have been instructed by Pakistan Army to carry out a major attack in Kashmir. For this, both these organisations have been asked to take help from the local cadre of Hizbul and The Resistance Front.
