Yahya Al Qahtani, a determined Saudi citizen, has finally fulfilled his aspiration to become a biology teacher after years of working as a security guard. Al Qahtani, who graduated with a degree in biology from Jazan University in 2015, encountered a long struggle to break into the education sector. Despite passing the initial teacher’s licensure exam, he faced nearly a decade of challenges in securing a teaching position.
During this period, Al Qahtani gained valuable experience by taking on various roles, including cashier, driver, and security guard. Reflecting on his journey, he emphasized that these years were not wasted. “The years of waiting weren’t simply idle time; I actively chose to engage in various professions,” he stated. “Working across different companies, I took on roles such as cashier, driver, and security guard. These experiences emphasized to me the value and importance of work in any capacity.”
Al Qahtani’s persistence and diverse work experiences have now culminated in his long-awaited entry into the teaching profession, where he can finally apply his academic training and passion for biology.
