The celebration of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day took place at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, marked by warm wishes and congratulations from Governor Kalraj Mishra. During the occasion, Governor Mishra engaged in a friendly interaction with residents hailing from Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the state’s significance as not only the largest in the country but also a rich repository of literature, culture, and arts.
Reflecting on the historical transformation, Governor Mishra mentioned that on January 24, 1950, the name of United Province was officially changed to Uttar Pradesh. Since May 2017, the Uttar Pradesh government has been observing Uttar Pradesh Day annually on January 24.
Emphasizing the state’s role as a symbol of unity in diversity in India, Governor Mishra stated that celebrating the foundation day of states at Raj Bhavan aims to foster collaboration in advancing the country’s development while cherishing the rich cultural heritage encapsulated in ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’
On this Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day, senior Indian Administrative Service officers Subodh Aggarwal, Neha Giri, Archana Singh, Shuchi Tyagi, and Aarti Dogra, along with Forest Service officer Kavita Singh, shared their experiences, adding to the spirit of the celebration.
