In the current election season, both Congress and BJP have given assurance to former officers of including them in the party and providing them with tickets. Former officers are also hopeful of getting tickets because everyone has their connections.
Some are successful in finding a place in the party organization. One such officer is Tikaram Meena. He is currently the convenor of the Congress’ announcement letter committee from Kerala cadre. Along with this, he has hopes of getting a ticket from Bamanwas. Despite the formal efforts, he is trying to get a ticket somehow. The party’s decision is not easy for this seat because there are several other strong claimants as well.
However, there is a real surprise regarding Tikaram Meena because he was seen participating in some programs associated with RSS in March this year. There are even photos of him with the RSS.
After being associated with RSS, there have been discussions about his candidacy and organization in Congress. One argument is that after seeing the atmosphere in favour of the Gehlot government in the state, his association with RSS has been severed.
He found it easy to get a place in Congress because the Congress organization secretary, K.C. Venugopal, comes from Kerala. Tikaram belongs to the Kerala cadre of the IAS, which is why there are expectations of a ticket through his influence. Now it remains to be seen whether the party gives him a ticket, or not, as Rahul Gandhi, the former president of Congress, is strongly opposed to the ideology of RSS.
