Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg expressed admiration for Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), noting that Jaiswal’s performance in the upcoming season is expected to be exceptional. Jaiswal, a left-handed batter, debuted in the 2020 season with the Rajasthan-based franchise and has since played 37 matches, amassing 1172 runs at a striking rate of 148.73.
Hogg, speaking on his official YouTube channel, highlighted Jaiswal’s increased confidence following his impressive showing against England in a Test series. He emphasized the strength of Rajasthan Royals’ top batting order, praising players like Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, and Rovman Powell. Hogg also noted the flexibility of the team’s lineup, with Ravichandran Ashwin capable of adjusting his position depending on match conditions.
However, Hogg expressed concern over the injury to Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna, suggesting it will be a setback for the team. Despite this, he predicted a standout season for Avesh Khan. The Rajasthan Royals will commence their IPL 2024 campaign against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
The team bolstered its squad in the IPL 2024 auction by acquiring players such as Rovman Powell, Shubham Dubey, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Abid Mushtaq, and Nandre Burger.
