In a successful operation, security forces in the Behrote area of Budhal, Rajouri, recovered arms, ammunition, and incriminating material. Additionally, two terror associates were arrested for their active involvement in terror activities.
The operation follows an encounter on Nov 17 in the Behrote Gali area of Budhal police station jurisdiction, resulting in the elimination of a terrorist. Subsequently, an investigation was initiated, leading to the detention of two locals for questioning.
Upon interrogation, the terror links of the detained individuals, identified as Mohd Nazir (58) and Farooq Ahmed (42), residents of Behrote Budhal and Guller Budhal, respectively, were established. The two were actively working for terrorists, leading to their arrest.
Based on the information provided by the arrested individuals, a joint operation was launched by J&K Police of District Rajouri, 33 RR, and 237 Bn CRPF, resulting in the recovery of arms, ammunition, and other items from Behrote Nallah in Budhal. The recovered items include 01 pistol, 02 pistol magazines, 28 pistol bullets, 02 grenades, 01 bag, 01 camouflage uniform, 01 plastic belts, 01 polysheet (Tarpal), 01 knee cap, 07 bandages, 01 hot strip (Garam patti), 01 syringe, 01 underwear, 01 electric tester, and 01 Cipladine ointment.
The recovered materials and the arrested individuals have been taken into custody for further investigation into their involvement in terror-related activities. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the security forces to ensure peace and security in the region.
