Zomato CEO Introduces Feature to Delete Order History, Netizens React

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has announced that customers will now have the option to delete their order history on the app, which appears to address specific concerns.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal recently announced on a social media platform that the food delivery app is rolling out a new feature. This update aims to allow customers to delete their order history, addressing a specific concern raised by users. Currently, this feature is being gradually implemented and may not be available to all users immediately.

Deepinder Goyal’s announcement came in response to an old post from December 2023, where a user named Karan expressed frustration. Karan had shared that he was considering stopping his late-night orders through Zomato because his wife had discovered them by checking the order history. He emphasized his disappointment at not being able to delete his order history and suggested that Zomato either allow this feature or risk losing his business.

In response to Karan’s feedback, Deepinder Goyal acknowledged the issue and revealed that Zomato was actively working on implementing the option to delete order history. This move reflects Zomato’s commitment to improving user privacy and addressing customer concerns effectively.

As the rollout progresses, Zomato aims to provide greater control over user data, ensuring that customers have the flexibility to manage their order history as they see fit. This enhancement underscores Zomato’s responsiveness to user feedback and its ongoing efforts to enhance the app’s functionality and user experience.

Seven months after the initial announcement, Zomato has implemented the feature allowing users to delete their order history. Deepinder Goyal shared a screenshot of the new feature, which was introduced in response to user demand. He expressed apologies for the delay in prioritizing and building the feature, noting the complexity involved in integrating it across multiple systems and microservices. The rollout of this feature to all customers is currently underway.
