French toast is one of the most famous and classic English breakfast items. It is made by dipping a slice of bread in a creamy egg mixture and pan-frying it until golden-brown. It is perfect to kick-start your day with a touch of indulgence.

Let's see how to make French toast in simple steps: 

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Toppings: powdered sugar, fresh fruits, or honey

Method: 

Step 1: Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a bowl until a smooth mixture is formed.

Step 2: Heat some butter or oil in a non-stick pan on medium flame. 

Step 3: Dip a slice of bread in the mixture, coating both sides of the slice. Make sure the bread doesn't get soggy. 

Step 4: Place the bread in the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on both sides until golden-brown. 

Step 4: Repeat the process with all the bread slices. 

Step 5: Serve the French toast warm with honey, fruits, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
