Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to hold pre-budget consultations with industry associations on June 20 evening at North Block.

Representatives from organizations such as FICCI, CII, Assocham, and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry will present their budget suggestions and recommendations during the meeting, which is part of the government’s annual process to gather feedback from key stakeholders ahead of the Union Budget. The budget is expected to be presented in Parliament in the third week of July.

Before meeting with the Finance Minister, industry associations will also meet Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra on June 18. Discussions will encompass a wide array of topics including tax reforms, industry incentives, economic growth strategies, and support for SMEs. This will mark the first budget of the Modi government’s third consecutive term, following the interim budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. She has previously presented six consecutive budgets and will set a record with the upcoming full-fledged budget for the new term of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government.
