A few days after seven men in Jharkhand’s Dumka are accused of raping a Spanish travel vlogger in a gang, details of the crime on March 1 have allegedly surfaced. The police report states that for the course of two and a half hours, the victim allegedly experienced physical assault, threats, and rape.

As detailed in the FIR, the 28-year-old woman faced the attack in Kurumahat, situated in the Hansdiha police station area, approximately 300 km away from the state capital Ranchi, while camping with her husband in a tent.

The woman’s account was recorded at 2:05 am on March 2 at the community health center, leading to the filing of an FIR under IPC sections 376D (gang rape) and 395 (dacoity).

According to the FIR, which gives a chronological narrative, the victim’s husband was verbally accosted by three individuals who then assaulted and restrained him. The other four males, according to the woman, dragged her away after showing her a dagger. After she was allegedly physically and sexually assaulted. The event allegedly happened between 7:30 and 10 p.m..

According to the FIR, the couple chose to spend the night in Kumrahat village, Dumka. Around 7 pm, while inside their tent, they heard suspicious voices and observed individuals conversing on the phone. Later, a group on motorcycles arrived, with five people approaching the couple, while two headed toward their tent.

The woman further asserted that the accused confiscated various belongings, including a Swiss knife, a wristwatch, rings, earpods, a purse, currency, and other items.

On Tuesday, the couple departed for Nepal through Bihar on their motorcycles, aiming to continue their global tour. Despite the traumatic incident, the woman expressed no grievances against the people of India, highlighting her positive experiences during extensive travels in the country.

On Tuesday, the police arrested five additional individuals in connection with the case, bringing the total number of accused to eight. Despite the harrowing experience, the woman maintained an optimistic perspective, commending the kindness and hospitality of the Indian people and confirming her intention to continue her journey with her husband.
