The Indian men’s hockey team faced a 1-4 defeat against Belgium on Friday during their second match of the European leg of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24. Both teams had a strong start in the second quarter, evenly matched in the initial exchanges. India got a penalty corner early but couldn’t score as Belgium’s goalkeeper blocked Harmanpreet’s shot. Belgium took the lead 1-0 with eight minutes left in the quarter when Felix Denayer scored from close range. India couldn’t equalize before halftime despite their repeated attacks.

India came out strong in the second half, but Belgium’s defense remained solid.
