Pracheen Kala Kendra, foremost cultural organization extensively dedicated to Art and Culture organized its 24th Quarterly baithak under the series “Legends of Tomorrow” at Triveni Kala Sangam recently. Eminent and noted artists like Anooratan Raai and Amitava Chatterjee received applauses for their soothing and melodic performances. Secretary of the Kendra Sajal Koser along with Chief Guest Pradeep Mishra Sarkar, Honble Chairman, MsMe, PCI and other dignitaries lit up the traditional lamp.
Artist Anooratan Raai is a Hindustani classical vocalist from Mumbai. He is blessed son and disciple of Legendary artist Anupam Rai. He is young and prominent artist of Senia mahiyar and Ram Sahaswan schools of music. His perfection over depth of ragas is his strength. He is MA Bhaskar from Pracheen Kala Kendra. He performed in many prestigious festivals of India and abroad.
Anooratan commenced with Raag Shree with a traditional Aalaap followed by Bade khayal composition “re man ka guru ko dhayan” was presented. After this, another beautiful Bandish of Chota khayal “kanha sang mohe lagan lagi” was presented which was highly appreciated by the audience. After this, Anooratan presented captivated fast tempo composition set to teen taal. He concluded his recital with a Thumri based on raga Mishra pahadi. He was ably accompanied by Babar latif on tabla, Lalit Sisodia on harmonium, and Ghanshayam Sisodia on sarangi.
Then Amitava Chatterjee took the stage. Born in highly enriched musical family, disciple of Pt. Manilal Nag is a prominent artist of these times.He chose Raga raga Malkauns and begin with after aalap Jod and Jhala. Then he moved on to present a beautiful Gat set to Abhogi. After this, the audience were mesmerized by another resonating composition in drut teen taal. The audience were mesmerized by the magical fingers playing the strings of Sitar. They provided befitted finale, a melodic dhun which was greatly appreciated by the audience. Young Ujith Uday accompanied them brilliantly on the tabla and added charm to the programme.
Secretary Sajal Koser along with other dignitaries present honored the artists with mementoes and scroll of honor.
