NEW DELHI: It’s been four years since Fatima Sana Shaikh made her debut in ‘Dangal’. She played Geeta Phogat, a Common Wealth Games medal winner. Fatima emerged as a strong and dedicated actor. Her role needed hours of training and practising and she put in a lot of efforts to shape up for the character.  The roles taken up by Fatima since then showcases her growth as an actor. Be it a quirky role in ‘Ludo’ or a sweet and simple girl in ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’, reflect her grip on the craft. For ‘Dangal’ and ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ the young actress went through rigorous training which could be seen in her performance.

In ‘Ludo’, in a sea of stars she made her presence felt. Fatima portrayed a never seen avatar and still shone in the film. From a wrestler in ‘Dangal’ to a good fighting mother in ‘Ludo’, she has come a long way. From practising hours to perfect Geeta Phogat to slaying in ‘Ludo’, the swagger remained for the people to see. ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’ proved that Fatima can portray a wide range of characters. It was a rom-com with lots of drama. She essayed the character in such a way that it speaks volumes about the maturity with which the actress approaches her role. The audience is waiting to see more strong performances from Fatima in 2021.
