A Fatal Collision near Mohanpur Chowk in Sitamarhi, Bihar, claimed three lives and left six others injured when an auto-rickshaw collided with a truck on Tuesday night, as confirmed by the police.

The incident occurred as the autorickshaw was en route to Sonbarsa from the railway station. Sitamarhi Sub-divisional police officer Ram Krishna stated, “Near Mohanpur Chowk, it collided with a truck, and out of the nine injured, three people have been declared dead by the doctor.”

While the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, some have been referred to higher medical centers. Thankfully, doctors have assured that there is no immediate threat to their lives.

This tragic incident echoes a similar Fatal Collision in April when six individuals, including a child, lost their lives after a truck carrying goods lost control and toppled onto an SUV in Bihar’s Bhagalpur. The accident, which occurred on National Highway 80 near Aamapur village, was devastating for occupants of the SUV, who were part of a wedding party traveling from Dhapari in Munger to Shrimatpur in Kahalgaon.

Reports indicate that a speeding truck, loaded with rods, overturned and crashed into the car following a tire burst. Local authorities, alongside residents and an earthmover, worked tirelessly to extract the victims’ bodies from the wreckage. The bodies were then transported to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination.

As investigations into the Sitamarhi accident continue, authorities urge vigilance and adherence to road safety measures to prevent further tragedies on the region’s highways.
