A shocking incident happened during TDP senior leader and former Union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju’s poll campaign. He allegedly slapped a woman activist while campaigning for the municipal elections in Vijayanagaram town when a woman threw petals on him. This came as the big shock on International Women’s Day.

The incident happened in the Poolbagh area in ward 14. Local leaders and cadres who were with Raju were shocked by the act. Surprisingly, no leader uttered a word on seeing this incident and for a brief moment, there was a pin drop silence. Feeling humiliated, the victim left while the related video is circulating on social media.

Recently, TDP MLA Balakrishna, brother-in-law of former CM and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, did a similar thing by slapping a fan of his in Hindupur of Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. In the case of Ashok Gajapat Raju, the woman said he did not beat her, but the video shows otherwise.
