Dr. Ghosh, who resigned from his position at RG Kar just hours before receiving a new appointment, now faces severe criticism from former neighbors. These neighbors have accused him of violence against his wife and unethical practices during his tenure.

Dr. Ghosh’s former neighbors have come forward with disturbing allegations about his personal life. According to a report by Hindustan Times Bangla, they claim that Dr. Ghosh kicked his wife in the belly just two weeks after she gave birth. The incident reportedly led to several of her stitches opening up. His wife, also a doctor at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College in Kolkata, was reportedly rescued by locals and taken to a hospital for treatment.

In addition to the personal allegations, former locals have accused Dr. Ghosh of charging extra fees for patient consultations conducted at his home, despite being employed at a government facility. They also described his mother as being “cruel” to his wife and child, claiming she did not provide essential clothing for the newborn.

Akhtar Ali, a former deputy superintendent at RG Kar, claimed that Dr. Ghosh operated a mafia-like network within the institution, engaging in practices such as taking commissions on tender orders and supplying alcohol to students at his guesthouse.
