A meeting of BJP conveners and co-conveners took place at the BJP Panchkamal office in Panchkula on Sunday to discuss preparations for Good Governance Day. Pradeep Ahlawat, the BJP state co-convenor, led the review of the arrangements during the meeting.
Ahlawat informed all the convenors and co-convenors that the celebration of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is part of the party’s comprehensive strategy involving six booth-level programs. These programs entail discussions at each booth among beneficiaries about government schemes, achievements, and the principles of good governance.
According to Ahlawat, every booth will engage in discussions on the government’s schemes and achievements at both the Central and State levels, with a specific focus on good governance for the welfare of the underprivileged. Simultaneously, the “Vikas Bharat Brand Ambassador” campaign is ongoing on the NaMo App, aiming to encourage individuals to become ambassadors of ‘Vikas Bharat.’
Addressing the gathering, Pradeep Ahlawat highlighted the significant contributions of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, emphasizing his role in elevating the respect for martyred soldiers in the country. During Vajpayee’s tenure, the bodies of martyrs were taken to their native villages, a departure from the previous practice of only sending urns of ashes to the families.
The Kargil Vijay is also commemorated as a milestone during his leadership. Ahlawat noted that Vajpayee was the first non-Congress Prime Minister to work on limiting the number of ministers, a move aimed at preventing misuse and adverse impacts on state treasuries.
As a tribute to Atal Ji, photos of him will be displayed at every booth, and various activities such as poetry recitation, seminars, and exhibitions of paintings depicting inspiration from Vajpayee’s life will be organized. Additionally, blood donation and health check-up camps will be arranged at the district level to serve the community.
