Amidst growing resentment among Raje loyalists in the State after the names of several of them were axed in the first list of BJP candidates for upcoming assembly polls, one more Raje loyalist has joined the chorus, former BJP MLA from Ladpura (Kota), Bhawani Singh Rajawat has threatened to leave BJP and contest independently, if he is not given party ticket from Ladpura constituency this time.
Rajawat today told media that “I have remained BJP MLA for a continuous period of 15 years, and I stepped down in last assembly polls on the insistence of the then Chief Minister, Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, but now my supporters are urging me to return to electoral politics and contest from Ladpura assembly constituency…I am seeking a BJP ticket from the Ladpura constituency. If I am denied a party ticket this time, then I will think of either joining any other political party or contest as an independent candidate.” He said that even if Ex CM Vasundhara Raje insists on him this time he won’t leave the seat.
Rajawat’s statement has arrived at a time when the BJP has axed names of Raje loyalists in the first list of BJP candidates, including Narpat Singh Rajvi, Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and others.
