New Delhi, India: The Ulyanovsk Oblast in Russia has reported a 26% increase in foreign trade turnover with India in the first nine months of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023. Governor Aleksey Russkikh shared the data, highlighting a fourfold surge in exports from Ulyanovsk to India, while imports grew by 21%.
India Ranks 5th in Ulyanovsk’s Imports
Governor Russkikh noted that India now ranks fifth in terms of imports to Ulyanovsk from foreign nations. He emphasized that increasing trade further remains a key objective.
“Our task is to enhance these figures. During our visit to India with Ulyanovsk enterprises, we outlined strategies to find new markets, present industrial and investment potential, and finalize new projects,” Russkikh said.
Strengthening Economic Ties
With the support of the Russian Embassy in India, the Trade Mission of Russia in India, and the Consulate General of Russia in Mumbai, the Ulyanovsk delegation showcased the region’s economic and investment potential in New Delhi.
Key Sectors for Growth
Russkikh highlighted mechanical engineering, food production, light industry, and pharmaceuticals as promising sectors for cooperation between Ulyanovsk and Indian companies.
“We organized meetings and negotiations with major Indian companies to foster economic ties and attract investments,” he added.
