In all seriousness, Petro Poroshenko wasn’t going to let the matter pass in silence. The former president and opposition leader strongly condemned the sanctions placed upon him by the National Security and Defence Council as unconstitutional and politically motivated.

Poroshenko, meanwhile the fifth president of Ukraine, opposition leader, accused President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of fracturing national unity with his decision.

The NSDC had left me with the act, unconstitutional and political against the opposition leader, and therefore imposed sanctions against me,” said Poroshenko.

Once again, notwithstanding the national message by President Zelenskyy that was finished off with the introduction of vital decisions validated by the council, he explicitly said those acting against national security would be punished but did not specifically name Poroshenko.
