Police Seize Al Jazeera’s Broadcasting Equipments as News Network Close its Operation in Israel

On Sunday, Al Jazeera was removed from Israeli broadcasting, with authorities seizing its equipment from Jerusalem offices, citing national security concerns, as per The Times of Israel.

The Israeli government’s decision temporarily suspended the outlet’s operations, prompting major TV providers to halt its broadcast for hours. While some internet providers continued hosting Al Jazeera’s English and Arabic websites, police and inspectors sealed its offices and confiscated equipment.

A video released by Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi’s office documented the seizure. The unanimous government vote enforced the closure, with Karhi issuing an immediate executive order.

Karhi and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Al Jazeera as a “Hamas incitement organ.”

The decision, backed by classified assessments from Shin Bet, IDF, and Mossad, linked Al Jazeera to national security threats, stemming from the Israel-Hamas conflict.

This move reflects Israel’s stringent stance on media perceived to undermine its security interests.
