India’s Role at the G20 Ministerial Meeting
Jaishankar is currently on a two-day visit to South Africa, attending the G20 FMM at the invitation of South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola. According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), his participation will help amplify India’s voice and strengthen ties with G20 nations while supporting the Global South’s interests.
South Africa, which took over the G20 presidency from December 2024 to November 2025, has set the theme for its leadership term as “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability.” The ongoing ministerial meetings serve as a crucial platform for diplomatic discussions on pressing global issues.
