Hush Money Case Update: Why Donald Trump’s Former Lawyer Wants him to be convicted?

In a significant development in a hush-money case involving former US president Donald Trump, the lawyer Michael Cohen has recently testified against his ex-boss after an intense cross-examination by defense counsel in hush money trial on Tuesday.

In a major revelation, the trump’s erstwhile lawyer Cohen has recently admitted that he wants Trump’s conviction in this case.

During the grilling cross-examination, the former US president’s lawyer Todd Blanche interrogated him about his social media’s comments. Including the one, which he said, ‘Trump belongs in a cage’.

Later he was asked, if he wanted Trump’s conviction, Cohen responded “sure”, as per CNN.

Further, his former aide also confessed, that he continuously pressured people like attorney Keith Davidson in 2018, to lie about deals with Karen McDougal and adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

He declared that he continued to lie out of loyalty and to protect him.

Later, recounting 2018 FBI’s Raid incident, cohen expressed, that time, he was “concerned, despondent, angry”.

He also declared, when he spoke to trump about this matter, the latter reassured him, thus continued to stay in Trump’s camp.

Then trump said “Don’t worry. I’m the president of the United States. ‘as per cohen.

“Admired him tremendously.”

Meanwhile, speaking about his former boss, Michael said that he admired trump tremendously. (“admired him tremendously.”).

However, he later made an acknowledgement and said, that his views slowly started to change. When Trump’s attorney pointed towards Cohen’s 2019 comments to congress, where he made an admission, that Donald Trump has committed variety of financial crimes.

Then, after describing his consequential downfall, he now pleaded guilty after talking to his family. And decided, He won’t lie for President Donald Trump anymore.

Earlier on Thursday, cohen while giving his testimony, said on his boss’s behalf, he had bullied and lied a lot. And he also accused, Trump for authorizing hush money payments.

Trump Wanted To End Gag Order Against Him

However, what’s interesting is, that it was trump himself, who wanted this gag order to end against him in a hush money case calling it unfair. Which was later denied by New York Appeals Court.

What Is the Hush Money Controversy All About?

Apparently, in this hush money scandal, Fromer US president and now accused Donald Trump, has allegedly falsified the business records with an adult film actress much before the 2016 US general election.

But Trump in this matter, has denied all of such meetings and has called the charges ”politically motivated”.

As a result, he has pleaded not guilty in this case.

In addition, the prosecutors also accused trump of the flouting of campaign finance laws by sending the money worth USD 130,000 to this adult actress Stormy Daniels via his former attorney Michael Cohen.

Only to later claim, that these used money was later repaid to cohen for legal work.
