Sometimes, one tragic event will change the direction of a man’s life forever. This was what happened to one man in Belgium whose life went from bad to worse when his wife vanished into thin air, leaving him only with the mystery of her disappearance while he hung clothes outside.

Two years later, the mystery was solved in a way that left everyone heartbroken. The circumstances of her discovery and her tragic fate were deeply shocking.

According to *The Sun*, an 83-year-old woman, Paulette Landrieux, from Andenne, Belgium, suffered from Alzheimer’s, a disease causing loss of memory and inability to remember simple day-to-day chores. Her husband, Marcel Tarret, cared for her. Often, he looked for Paulette when she left their home, ensuring she came back safely.

On November 2, 2020, Marcel’s life was turned upside down. Marcel was hanging clothes in the garden when Paulette was indoors with the television on and had prepared a snack. Assuming that she was adequately occupied, Marcel was alarmed to return and find that she was missing.

He searched their home and questioned neighbors, but no one had seen her. Desperate, he contacted the police, who launched a thorough investigation, including deploying a helicopter. Despite all this, Paulette could not be found.

Marcel spent two long years without knowing his wife’s fate. In 2022, a neighbor, using Google Street View, accidentally saw something unusual: a photo of Paulette on the road near her house, going toward a footpath that led into the bushes.

This discovery led the police to trace the path that had been captured in the picture. Their search discovered a ditch that was concealed by thick vegetation. Unfortunately, Paulette’s body was found there. It is believed that she became trapped in the dense undergrowth, which caused her untimely death.
