On Tuesday, Elon Musk continued his personal attacks against European politicians by targeting Germany’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier with a new post. The comments followed an address by Steinmeier in which he spoke out against outside influence after the dissolution of the Bundestag. Musk, an ally of US President-elect Donald Trump, weighed in on the criticism of Steinmeier by far-right influencer Naomi Seibt, referring to him as “an anti-democratic tyrant” and saying, “Shame on him.

Steinmeier’s office acknowledged Musk’s post but declined to comment further. This follows Musk’s previous remarks, including calling Chancellor Olaf Scholz “a fool” in German and predicting his loss in Germany’s February election.

Musk has also teased holding an online meeting with Alice Weidel, head of the far-right AfD party, since she received accolades from Musk on X. Musk wrote on his post that, “Wait until Alice and I do an X Spaces conversation. They will lose their minds.”

Reacting negatively, German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck attacked Musk’s efforts to sway German elections, failing to identify enough dangers to his “unbridled communication power” and accused him of weakening Europe. “No business model must destroy our democracy,” Habeck said.

Musk has also been raising fears over his influence in the UK, where he has allied himself with the hard-right lawmaker Nigel Farage and has criticized Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
