“AI’s Biggest Fear Is Job Loss”: PM Modi Discusses Solutions at Paris AI Summit

Emphasizing the transformational power of AI and the need of spreading its advantages worldwide, PM Modi gave a strong speech at the World Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit in Paris. Emphasizing the necessity of secure inclusivity, particularly in the Global South, he pointed out how artificial intelligence is transforming education, agriculture, and healthcare.

PM Modi emphasized in his speech how artificial intelligence could transform major industries including health, education, and agriculture and therefore help billions of people live better. Emphasizing that AI’s scope goes beyond these industries and can be essential in speeding the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Prime Minister said, “AI can transform millions of lives.”

Calling on world leaders to combine assets and talents to guarantee the broad benefits of AI, PM Modi stressed that artificial intelligence could much help to accelerate and simplify the path toward these goals. He also pushed for the creation of open-source technologies that nurture trust and transparency.

Concerns Being Addressed are Biases

Although it has great promise, PM Modi accepted the difficulties artificial intelligence systems—that is biases in artificial intelligence—presents. He urged for unbiased, high-quality data sets so as to support the development of AI applications centered on people. PM Modi said, “AI must be about people-centric applications. We must address concerns related to cyber security, disinformation, and deepfakes.”

Furthermore under consideration by the Prime Minister was the concern that huge job losses might result from artificial intelligence. He told the world not to worry, pointing out that technology does not eliminate jobs in total although it does change the kind of work. “AI’s most-feared disruption is ‘loss of jobs’. But history has shown that work does not disappear due to technology.” He went on to say “The nature of jobs changes with time, and new types of jobs are created.”

He further noted that to address this concern, “We need to invest in skilling and re-skilling of our people for an AI-driven future.”

Guaranteeing AI Development Sustainment

Another important point in PM Modi’s speech was the sustainability of artificial intelligence advancement. He admitted that artificial intelligence requires a high level of energy and that renewable energy technologies need to power its future. Calling for renewable energy sources to fuel next technologies, he said the high-energy intensity of AI certainly needs examination.

Moreover, he emphasized the cooperation between India and France via the International Solar Alliance, which seeks to maximize solar energy and offer a renewable energy source for developing technologies.

Indian Supremacy in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Infrastructure

PM Modi also talked about India’s advances in AI and digital infrastructure, which have set the stage for a booming tech scene. Based on an open and available network, he stated that India has brilliantly constructed a digital public infrastructure sensible for more than 1.4 billion citizens at an astoundingly low cost. He said: “India has created an artificial intelligence initiative for all and good.

The Prime Minister stressed that India’s AI initiative centers on the common good and the nation is a front-runner in AI deployment and technology-legal remedies for data privacy.

He further pointed out how digital commerce in India has turned democratic and open to all people, therefore revolutionizing administration and modernizing the economy. PM Modi finished by stating that India is intent on constantly advancing AI uses for the good of society and the planet at large.
