As part of the continuous campaign against corruption in Haryana, a team of the Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested ESI Deshraj red-handed while taking a bribe of 30,000.
A spokesperson for the ACB said that the accused ESI Deshraj was working in the Sector-20 police station area of Panchkula district. On the basis of information, the ACB team laid a trap and caught the accused while he was taking a bribe of 30,000.
The accused was demanding Rs 50,000 for filing a report in the court
The complainant had alleged that ESI Deshraj had demanded 50,000 from him to file a report in the court in favour of his brother regarding an FIR lodged in Sector-20 police station of Panchkula.
The complainant had already given 20,000 to ESI Deshraj on November 23rd. On that day, ESI Deshraj had promised to file a favourable report in court on the same day. But on November 24th, the complainant came to know that ESI Deshraj was not going to file a report in the court.
ACB arrested the accused red-handed
On the basis of the information given by the complainant, the ACB team laid a trap and caught ESI Deshraj red-handed while taking 30,000 from the complainant
ACB registered a case against the accused
A case has been registered against ESI Deshraj under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Anti Corruption Bureau Police Station, Panchkula. He has been arrested and is being interrogated.
