PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra said that the BJP has played politics on ERCP. He added, “This project was built during the time of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, mileage was not given to her. Congress was in government for five years, hence the matter was not taken forward.”
He said, “An additional amount of eight thousand crore rupees will be spent. Rajasthan shall suffer a loss due to this. The project has also been delayed.” He warned of the repercussions of this delay and compromise. He said that the result of Lok Sabha elections will teach them a lesson
Dotasra criticised the BJP, accusing them of playing politics with the ERCP. He claimed that the BJP did not give credit to the project initiated during Vasundhara Raje’s tenure.
He asserted that the delay and increased cost of the project were due to political manoeuvres, and the state has suffered a loss. Dotasra mentioned the alleged attempt by the Union Jal Shakti Ministry to halt the project, and despite this, the work continued.
Dotasra expressed concern about the project not being designated as a national project, emphasizing the need for water supply to 13 districts, industries, and irrigation. He questions the feasibility of the proposed funding ratio of 90:10 between the Center and the State.
On the hijab controversy, Dotasra stated, “Some individuals have entered the assembly as well as outside, who occasionally talk only about spreading religious fanaticism. These people do not respect the Constitution. They attempt to run their own constitution. Such individuals cannot be well-wishers of society, country, and state. One should be cautious of such people, and when the time comes, the treatment for such individuals will also be known.”
