Veteran actor Neena Gupta received the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award at the 70th National Film Awards for her performance in the film Uunchai. The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on October 8.
A Special Occasion
For the prestigious event, Neena Gupta chose a stunning pink saree paired with a matching blouse, complemented by a pink flower accessory in her hair. She radiated elegance and was all smiles as she accepted the award from the President.
Three-Time National Award Winner
This marks Neena Gupta’s third National Film Award, having previously won for Bazar Sitaram and Woh Chokri. Reflecting on her latest achievement, Neena expressed her surprise and gratitude during an interview with ANI.
“It is a big surprise for me because it has been a long time since the film came out. I didn’t even know when the National Awards happen. I had no idea about it. I’m very thankful to get this award because a National Award is a big deal,” she said.
Neena shared her enthusiasm for Uunchai, describing it as a special film for her. “It was my dream to work with Sooraj ji, and I am very happy he also got an award. It was a very special film for me,” she added. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film also garnered the Best Director award at the ceremony.
