Kangana Ranaut Responds To Kapoor Family’s Meeting With PM Modi, Reveals Her Own Request For An Audience

The Kapoor family has recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ask him to accept the invitation for the Raj Kapoor Film Festival to commemorate 100 years of the iconic actor-filmmaker. In response to this in Agenda Aaj Tak, Kangana Ranaut remarked that it is a much-needed step for PM Modi to engage with the film industry.

Kangana on meeting Kapoors for PM Modi

Kangana was questioned whether PM Modi’s engagement with the Kapoor family inspires her hope regarding her own meeting with him in the near future, to which she responded, “I believe our film industry requires significant guidance. It’s a soft power, and I feel it’s greatly underutilized. Nowadays, whether it’s PM Modi or our other mentors from the Information Broadcast Ministry, or various programs, I have also been a part of this industry for 20 years. ” I believe the industry is orphaned; they lack any guidance. This lack of direction allows agendas, such as the Jihadi agenda or the Palestinian agenda, to capture them. They have no guidance and they don’t know which way to head. ”

Kangana on the Vulnerability of the Film Industry

Highlighting the difficulties faced by the industry, Kangana noted, “You can influence individuals in the film industry to do anything with a little monetary incentive. Dawood invites them to his parties, and they frequently fall prey to hawala and drugs. They are extremely vulnerable. ” Thus, I think this move to meet them is to ensure that they, too, feel that PM Modi acknowledges us, looks at our work, and considers us. Such interactions are scarce. They have the impression that they can act freely. They would go and dance at gangsters’ parties in Dubai, believing they are not being monitored. So this is a very positive initiative.

Mainstream Recognition for the Film Industry

Kangana further emphasized the need for mainstream acknowledgment of the film industry. She stated, “They need to be a part of mainstream industries. We are a part of a very big industry, but we don’t get respect like other industries. We make so many films and generate so much revenue. Coming to the fact that I don’t get an audience with the Prime Minister, I have requested for one and I hope I get it soon.”

Kangana’s Next Project

On the professional side, Kangana Ranaut will feature in her self-directed film Emergency, where she will portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film includes Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, and Mahima Chaudhary in significant roles and is slated for release in 2025.
