When Hugh Jackman Playfully Flirted With Aishwarya Rai During His India Visit

International stars, like Hugh Jackman, agree that Aishwarya Rai is one of the most beautiful women in the world. This sentiment was charmingly demonstrated during Jackman’s visit to India in 2011, where he attended the FICCI Frames event with his then-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.

Hugh Jackman’s India Visit

In 2011, Hugh Jackman visited India and was honored by the FICCI Frames team for his contributions to cinema. During the event, iconic director Yash Chopra and actress Aishwarya Rai presented him with a Lord Ganesha idol.

Upon accepting the gift, Jackman humorously remarked, “Thank you, Aish. I was told I was going to be introduced by the most beautiful actress in the world, and I thought it was going to be my wife. And I say that because I am a very smart man and also because my wife is sitting in the front row.”

He continued, “But Aish, thank you very much. You are indeed a very beautiful actress. Not the most beautiful actress (pointing to his wife), but a very beautiful actress. But thank you to FICCI for having us here. It is a dream for us to be here in Mumbai, India. We’ve longed to come here.”

Fans Love His Smart Comment

Fans appreciated Hugh Jackman’s ability to compliment Aishwarya Rai while also expressing love for his wife, Deborra. One fan commented, “You praise Ash, you win her heart and her fans. But you praise your wife in front of her, you win all the women’s hearts.” Another remarked, “Bro was saving himself from argument,” highlighting Jackman’s clever diplomacy. A fan also noted, “Such a thorough gentleman apart from being a terrific actor.”

During the awards show, Hugh Jackman had a memorable time dancing on stage with Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Vidya Balan. He expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, saying, “I am a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and I loved his film My Name is Khan. I want to do a sequel to this film and that will be called My Name is Jackman, and I am not a tourist,” cleverly playing on the film’s tagline, “And I am not a terrorist.”

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness divorced in September last year after 28 years together. Jackman was last seen in the recent release, *Deadpool and Wolverine*, with Ryan Reynolds.
