Deepika Padukone Shares The Importance Of ‘Stepping Away’ For Mental Well-Being

Deepika Padukone has been a passionate advocate for mental health awareness in India, using her platform to openly discuss her own experiences with anxiety and depression. By sharing her personal journey, she has worked tirelessly to destigmatize mental health issues and encourage others to seek help and support. Her efforts have made a significant impact in raising awareness and promoting a more understanding and compassionate approach to mental health in the country.

In a recent Instagram post, she highlighted the importance of self-care, noting that it can be challenging to find time for oneself but is crucial for thriving rather than just surviving.

Padukone emphasized the value of “stepping away” to “pause, breathe, and re-align” oneself. She shared that taking breaks, even briefly, can help reconnect with oneself and maintain mental well-being. Her message coincides with Self Care Month, celebrated from June 24 to July 24 each year, encouraging people to prioritize their mental health and well-being.

Dr. Roshan Mansukhani, a music therapist and counsellor told India Express practical tips on how to disconnect and relax during the day. He suggested simple actions like closing your eyes for a minute every hour, stretching, or listening to soothing music. He also recommended engaging in hobbies, spending time with family, and having meaningful conversations with others. These practices can help individuals manage stress and maintain a healthy mental state.
