Varinder Singh Ghuman renowned as a celebrated bodybuilder and rising actor, passed away due to a heart attack in Amritsar after being admitted to Fortis Hospital for what was supposed to be a minor operation on his bicep. The situation turned unfortunate and what was expected to be a minor procedure gave way to a fatal cardiac arrest, putting an end to a life that inspired many across fields.

Ghuman came into national reckoning after being crowned Mr. India in 2009 and then going on to be the first runner-up in the Mr. Asia Championship. His towering physique and determination won over the sport in an extremely competitive arena. His international breakthrough came in 2013 when he was personally chosen by Arnold Schwarzenegger to represent his fitness brand in Asia.

Ghuman encountered Schwarzenegger at the Arnold Classic Championship in Spain, where his career peaked. Schwarzenegger later called him a remarkable talent and greatly praised his physique and stature as the tallest professional bodybuilder in India. In Tiger 3 the high-octane spy thriller featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif he played the character Shakeel, a Pakistani prison guard, intensifying the YRF Spy Universe movie which also completes the trilogy with Pathaan and War.

Apart from his physical strength, Ghuman was a strong believer in veganism which is a rare choice in bodybuilding. He credited his plant-based diet for his stamina and well-built body while questioning the conventional practices in the sport.
