The sudden demise of Odia singer Humane Sagar has created a vacuum in the region's music circles. At 34, his voice shaped an era of Odia cinema with which his death is an emotional and cultural loss for the people of Odisha. His death at the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar after days of critical care, has sparked widespread disbelief and reflection on a career that rose quickly and ended far too soon.
A master of expressiveness with his unmistakable tone of voice, Humane Sagar grew into one of the most identifiable voices as a playback singer in Odisha. His songs carried a raw emotional weight that instantly hit listeners and thereby turning him into a household name across the state.

That artistic environment shaped his instincts early, creating a base that later pushed him toward playback singing. He is survived by his daughter, who was the center of his life.

Over the years, he became one of Ollywood's most sought-after playback singers, contributing his voice to films, albums, and independent releases.
His big break came when the film Ishq Tu Hi Tu was released in 2015. The title track, backed by the composition of Abhijit Majumdar, catapulted him to stardom overnight. Since then, he sang over a hundred songs encompassing romance, heartbreak, and devotion, and his voice became synonymous with Odia cinema of the 2010s and early 2020s.

His personal life had seen both highs and grueling moments, which included the heart-wrenching separation from the love of his life, fellow singer Shriya Mishra, and then the traumatic loss of his father. Those who knew him well always said that he felt everything deeply-and something listeners could always hear in every song he recorded.
