A young contestant named Ishit Bhatt from Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 has gone viral for his confident yet controversial interaction with host Amitabh Bachchan. In a video that’s being widely shared on social media, Ishit Bhatt is seen telling Big B, “Mere ko rules pata hai isliye aap mereko abhi rules samjhane mat baithna.”
While many people found his confidence funny and entertaining, others called his tone rude and disrespectful. This moment has now sparked a big debate online about parenting, manners, and how children behave on national television.
Ishit Bhatt is a 10-year-old boy from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, who appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 during the Children’s Special episode. He came across as very sharp and energetic, answering questions quickly and showing great enthusiasm.
However, his outspoken attitude toward Amitabh Bachchan surprised many viewers and led to mixed reactions online. Even though he faced criticism, some people defended him, saying he was simply too excited to meet the Bollywood megastar and didn’t mean to be disrespectful.
Ishit is 10 years old and studies in the 5th standard at a reputed English-medium school in Gandhinagar. He is known as a bright and curious student who enjoys quizzes, general knowledge, and current affairs. His teachers reportedly describe him as “inquisitive and confident,” qualities that helped him make it to the KBC stage.
Ishit comes from a middle-class family in Gandhinagar. His mother is a homemaker, and his father works for a private company in the city. The Bhatt family was extremely proud when Ishit got selected for Kaun Banega Crorepati, as meeting Amitabh Bachchan was one of his biggest dreams.

So far, his parents haven’t spoken publicly about the controversy, but reports say they were shocked by how quickly the video went viral and how strongly people reacted to it.
The controversy began when Ishit confidently interrupted Amitabh Bachchan before the game even started, saying, “Mere ko rules pata hai isliye aap mereko abhi rules samjhane mat baithna.”
Later, during the quiz, he also said, “Arre option daalo,” and “Sir ek kya uss mein chaar lock lagado, lekin lock karo.” While his overconfidence amused some viewers, others felt it was disrespectful towards the 81-year-old host.
However, his confident streak didn’t last long because he ended up losing the round after giving the wrong answer.
Amitabh Bachchan asked him: “What is the name of the first Kanda of Valmiki Ramayana?”
Options:
A) Bala Kanda
B) Ayodhya Kanda
C) Kishkinda Kanda
D) Yuddha Kanda
Ishit quickly gave his answer without much thought and asked Big B to “lock” Ayodhya Kanda immediately. Unfortunately, his answer was wrong, and he lost the round without winning any prize money. The correct answer was A) Bala Kanda.
After Ishit’s loss, Amitabh Bachchan calmly said, “Kabhi kabhi bachhe overconfidence mein galti kar dete hai.” The line won hearts online for showing Big B’s patience and humility.
Social media users were divided in their opinions. Some criticized Ishit’s behaviour as rude, while others said he was just an excited kid on national TV.
One user wrote,
“It's okay if your child knows, but if he doesn’t have manners or if he doesn’t know how to talk in front of elders, he can never be successful.”
Another said, “Perfect ending. Arrogance got schooled. Maybe now the parents will learn, raising a brat isn’t parenting, it’s public nuisance training (sic).”
However, others came to Ishit’s defense, saying he was simply nervous and overexcited, not arrogant.
Ishit Bhatt’s clip spread fast across social media because of his bold and funny interaction with Amitabh Bachchan, the debate over children’s behaviour and confidence, nostalgia around KBC and Big B’s legendary calmness.
The episode also reignited a bigger discussion about how kids today handle fame, pressure, and discipline in the age of viral videos.
Despite all the controversy, Ishit Bhatt’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 turned him into an overnight internet sensation. For some, he represented overconfidence; for others, he was just a confident kid who spoke his mind.
The incident has once again raised questions about modern parenting, TV exposure, and how children perceive confidence versus respect. Love him or criticize him, one thing is certain — Ishit Bhatt made sure his episode on KBC won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
