After giving a new dimension to the Indian superhero genre with a blockbuster film like 'Hanuman,' director Prasanth Varma and RKD Studios are coming up with their next 'Mahakali.' The makers have recently released the first look of its protagonist, Bhoomi Shetty, which has left the audience surprised.
Sources further inform that more than 50% of the shooting of the film is complete, and the shooting is presently going on at a set erected in Hyderabad.
The special thing is that the producers have put their trust in new actress Bhoomi Shetty instead of a big star cast and have made a heavy investment in this project.
Sources close to the series confirm that many leading actresses were vying to play this role, but the makers picked an actress symbolizing Indianness and power, as befits the name 'Mahakali.'
Bhoomi Shetty is seen in a fiery avatar with traditional ornaments and red-golden attire, which is attracting the audience.
Prasanth Varma, the director, has this to say about Bhoomi Shetty: After Hanuman, I wanted to bring the divine feminine power to the screen. Bhoomi underwent extensive training for this role and brought the soul of ‘Mahakali’ to life with the intensity of her eyes.
