The Raghav Juyal-Sakshi Malik clip purportedly showing a slap-hair-pulling action became a hot topic and one of the most circulated videos on the internet almost immediately. The graphic visuals instantly led to a backlash, fluttering with confusion and heated speculation. The viewers were divided: some thought it was violence, while others doubted its authenticity especially because it was released without any narration.

With a clear message, Raghav shared the video. Guys, please don’t assume this is real; it was only a scene we practiced for our play script (acting practice). “Banne ki practice hai bus acha actor”

It Was a Scene and Not a Scandal

Both actors quickly clarified that the whole drama was not real. Raghav shared on social media that the scene was ‘just a practice session into a performance exercise for an upcoming stage play,” and requested fans not to mistake it for a real fight. Sakshi supported him in saying that there were four actors rehearsing a tough scene full of emotions. At that point, they put the confusion to rest and reminded the audience of the context because, in this day and age, a clip could go viral just as quickly as its correct facts could ever come about.

Formation of Judgments about Such Digital Cultures

The incident shows how fast the online audience can judge. Some expressed shock at the perceived violence, while others took to platforms such as Reddit to assess and critique it in. One Redditor mentioned shooting in-class acting exercises can go wrong without context. Another criticized it as ”cheap PR”, alleging some might use this for attention more than for the art. This whole viral whirl over a brief and heated moment has cast light on that delicate line between acting and perception, and one that can hurriedly walk into being.

This misrepresented rehearsal clip is already a microcosm for how the digital era has managed to shift social narratives. It reminds us not everything we see online is based on the truth, with reckless viral circulation thereby distorting actual intent and impact. Although this rapid clarification has come to the right aid of Raghav and Sakshi, the incident can only stand as a warning: In a world in which all we see are clips, context still counts for much more.
