The sudden death of popular travel influencer Anunay Sood in Las Vegas has shocked millions of his followers around the world. The 31-year-old content creator, known for his striking visuals and global travel stories, was found unresponsive in a luxury hotel room earlier this month. Police sources now believe a suspected drug overdose may have caused his death.
Police Say Drugs Found Near His Body
A report by LA-based portal 8NewsNow revealed that officers discovered Anunay Sood unresponsive inside his room at the Wynn Las Vegas on November 4. Investigators said they found “narcotics” near his body, according to documents reviewed by the outlet.
Sood was in the city to attend the Las Vegas Concours 2025 car show, as indicated in his latest Instagram posts. With over 1.5 million followers, he was one of India’s most recognised travel influencers.
Woman Claims Group Bought Suspected Cocaine
A woman staying with Sood told investigators that the group had purchased what they believed was cocaine from a man on the casino floor around 4 am. She said she, Sood, and another woman consumed the substance before falling asleep.
When the two women woke up about an hour later, they found Sood unresponsive. According to the report, police recovered a small bag containing an unidentified white powder and other items that suggested the group had snorted the substance.
Family Confirms Death, Requests Privacy
Sood’s family and friends confirmed his death on Instagram last week. They also appealed to their followers to respect their privacy and not gather near their residence. His final posts on social media placed him in Las Vegas at the time of his death.
The Los Angeles police earlier said in a statement to HT.com, “On November 4, 2025, LVMPD responded to a dead body located in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Officers assisted the coroner and took a non-criminal/medical report.”
Cause of Death Pending, No Arrests Yet
The Clark County coroner’s office has listed both the cause and manner of death as pending. Toxicology results may take several months to determine whether drugs directly caused his death. As of Monday, authorities have made no arrests in connection with the case.

Anunay Sood was known for his visually rich travel photography, cinematic videos, and globe-trotting lifestyle. He built a massive online presence with more than 1.4 million Instagram followers and over 3.8 lakh YouTube subscribers.
He appeared in Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list for three consecutive years: 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Sood began by posting his travel journeys on Instagram before launching a Dubai-based digital performance and marketing agency. He travelled to 46 countries and often spoke about his long-term dream to visit all 195 countries and regions in the world.
