The wait for Stranger Things Season 5 is growing and getting more intense day by day. After the trailer dropped, fans are excited and are eagerly waiting for the first part of the final season.
Netflix has finally released the first five minutes of the final season. The short clip takes fans straight back to November 12, 1983, 'The Starting', where it all began — and it’s already sending chills down everyone’s spine.
Netflix posted the clip titled “November 12, 1983. Watch the first 5 minutes of Stranger Things Season 5 now.” The sequence recreates the night when Will Byers vanished, the moment that started the series.
Will is seen alone and frightened in his backyard tent before the monstrous Demogorgon attacks. The flashback ends with a haunting confrontation between Vecna and Will. Vecna says: “At long last, we can begin. You and I, we’re going to do such beautiful things together.”
The fifth and final season will stream exclusively on Netflix. It will feature eight episodes, divided into three parts:
The new season takes place a year after Season 4, during the fall of 1987. The gang reunites to hunt down Vecna after the Rifts open in Hawkins, threatening to destroy their world for good.
The opening minutes dive straight into Hawkins in 1983, skipping long build-ups and jumping right into tension. It connects the story of the first season to the upcoming showdown with Vecna.
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer earlier revealed that Season 5 will bring closure to the mystery of the Upside Down.
“So much of the season was built around the idea of coming full circle, answering many of the questions that were posed all the way back in season 1,” they said.
“I think the two biggest questions that we didn’t really answer in season 1 that we do answer this season are, ‘What is the Upside Down, truly?’ and ‘Why was Will taken?’”
Fans quickly reacted online. One viewer wrote, “Back to where it all began.” Another said, “Oh my days! I was saying the other day, when we were watching season 1, that we were 100% going back to this season! Now, everybody, quiet; my shows are on.”
The Duffer Brothers have promised a darker tone and faster pace for the final chapter. The opening clip already proves it — no slow introduction, just high stakes from the start.
This approach shows that Stranger Things 5 will focus heavily on horror, emotion, and long-awaited answers. The nostalgia of returning to the first season’s events adds a sense of closure for loyal viewers.
